Mathéo Jesus, a young winemaker who settled in Carnas, at the foot of the Cévennes, in 2021. 6 hectares of organically-farmed vines. AOC Languedoc & IGP Gard.

Mathéo Jesus has been a young winemaker since 2021: “Originally from Bugey in the Ain region, I settled in Carnas after learning the trade for 4 years at an estate north of Pic-Saint-Loup.”
The estate is located at the foot of the Cévennes, where the climate, although Mediterranean, is one of the coolest and wettest in the Languedoc. These features give the wines tension, aromatic freshness and finesse.
Gradually built up, the Domaine today comprises two blocks of hillside vines. All the vines are grown organically.
“I’m firmly convinced that soil life is one of the key elements in making terroir-driven wines. So I use permanent grass cover on all the estate’s vines, which are pruned gently, disbudded and trellised with care.”

The emblematic Languedoc grape varieties are present on the Domaine:
– Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault for IGP Gard, AOC Languedoc and Languedoc “Sommières” reds.
– Rolle (Vermentino), Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc and Chardonnay for IGP Gard and AOC Languedoc whites.
