Découvrez le vin ariégeois proposé par Joelle Gaveaux, issue d’une famille de vignerons. Elle créer son domaine sur la commune de Montaut, réputée jadis pour le vin, y plantant deux hectares de vignes.

Located in Montaut, in the heart of the Ariège, Montaltais is part of a movement that combines the forgotten traditions of its region with a new impetus for Ariège wine. Created in 2015, it was in 2020 that the estate found its identity. Its name, le Montaltais, reflects a desire to honour the village in which it is based, and which was the cradle of decisive technical innovations for the wine industry, such as the Royat cordon. Backed by this land rich in history, our estate is now a key player in the renaissance of the Ariège as a French wine-growing area.

Initiated and driven by Joëlle Gaveaux, Montaltais is also the fruit of a family tradition built on generations of passionate winegrowers. It is with this passion that we carry the stories of our family and our region, offering wines that respect the land on which they are grown.
From the planting of the vines to the vinification, the entire process is carried out with respect for nature and the land, as demonstrated by our adherence to the Organic Agriculture label. This commitment to an organic approach has been with Le Montaltais from the outset, and has been confirmed in the years since its development.
This commitment is also reflected in our craftsmanship. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is made in the traditional way; intensive ploughing, with little respect for the environment, is avoided.
