From Gascony to Languedoc, from Roussillon to the terraces of Larzac, you have the biggest wine region in France to explore! Taste an exceptional aromatic range of wines in Occitania: red, white, rosé, sweet and sparkling wines. As Occitania's wines have moved upmarket, the region has become the new Eldorado for fans of (very) good wines.
87 designations, including 51 PDO wines, can be found in Occitania. In the south-west, we are in a land of valleys, hills and fluvial terraces shared by Gaillac, Fronton, Cahors, Saint-Mont and Madiran.
In Languedoc and Roussillon, you arrive in the ardent lands of Corbières, Minervois, La Clape, Saint-Chinian, Pic-Saint-Loup and Côtes du Roussillon.
Between the powerful Cahors (the "Black Wine") with its famous grape variety Malbec, and the sunshine wines of the Mediterranean, the refreshing wines of the south-west, which ones will you prefer?

With over 260,000 hectares of vineyards, the Occitania region is the leading wine region in France. 33% of French wine is produced here. The organic vineyards in the region represent 30% of France's total.
Visits to wineries, tastings, wine walks, wine festivals: the winemakers of Occitania welcome visitors and share an art of living. Almost 15 wine areas have been awarded the "Vignobles & Découvertes" label: a national guarantee of quality in wine tourism.
For one or more days, follow the wine routes that make their way through the region. Enjoy the attractive landscapes, visit the villages and historic sites along the way.

It is in Occitania that you will find the best wine bar in the world: the N°5 Wine Bar in Toulouse, and distinguished by the British magazine The World OF Fine Wine.
Armagnac is an exceptional brandy distilled from white wine, then aged for years in oak barrels. It was born in the Gers region in the 14th century. You can celebrate it all through the winter at many different events during the "Flamme de l’Armagnac" ("Armagnac Flame").
Armagnac boasts an incredible aromatic range and can be enjoyed after dinner or as an aperitif as part of a subtle cocktail.
Floc de Gascogne is a refreshing and floral aperitif, also from Gascony, and consisting of young Armagnac and grape juice. "Floc" means "bouquet of flowers" in the Occitan language.

The top French wines for export, the great vintages from Occitania have seen their sales double in the United States in just a few years. Top wine experts such as Robert Parker are their biggest fans.
Blanquette de Limoux, C.Deschamps
They are made in Hérault and Pyrénées-Orientales: Muscat de Mireval, Muscat de Frontignan, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Banyuls, Maury ... These are sweet wines with alcohol added to halt fermentation. The result? These wines are both high in alcohol and naturally sweet, to be enjoyed as an aperitif outdoors.
Blanquette de Limoux, Crémant de Limoux and Blanquette Méthode Ancestrale: savour the delicate effervescence of the wines from Limoux. Blanquette was first made by chance in 1531 by a Benedictine monk and became the world's very first sparkling wine!
