Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert to let yourself be carried along by the water in the gorges. The only requirement is to be able to swim 25 meters and to be able to immerse yourself. Our team will equip you and give you good advice to stop on a beach, have a picnic, a nap or a refreshing swim, and enjoy this incredible site.
We will lend you a waterproof container to put your phone or camera. This way you can bring back beautiful memories of your loved ones and your canoeing adventure in the Gorges du Tarn.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
N° 1 – 10 km ? It is a descent within the reach of all, which will bring you much pleasure
This playful walk adapted to all the family, will allow you to take pleasure and to benefit from the exit in all peace. Discover the Gorges du Tarn, its amazing and spectacular environment, its natural habitat, its fish and its wild nature. Take your time, rest on one of the beaches along the Tarn and open your eyes wide, you may meet one of the otters that inhabit the area. The Pont Cassé on the left, the Château de Peyrelade on the right, will announce the near arrival, and a fun and fast passage will add the thrill of a white water descent.
N° 2 – 15 km – This is the ideal route for the day, with picnic and swimming
This route, a little more sportive, will allow you to appreciate the wild beauty of the Gorges du Tarn. Some fast passages will give you the thrill of a real white water descent. Take advantage of the small beaches all along the route to make a well-deserved stop, to recharge your batteries with a bath in the fresh and crystalline water, and to marvel at the sight of these breathtaking landscapes. Among the countless viewpoints, the Mas de la Font, with the rapids of the Sablière, its very pretty characteristic hamlet, the Troglodyte village of St Marcellin on the right, the Rock of Cinglegros on the left, will make this walk a real moment of total disorientation. Relax, breathe and admire the flight of the Vultures in the blue sky, the fish in the water, and with a little luck our friend and lord the beaver….
N° 3 – 20 km ? This is the route reserved for the most enduring and the most athletic
As soon as the water is put in, the tone of the ride is set: you will have to go down the canoe slide in the middle of the Des Vignes dam to start the adventure! The course requires a good physical condition due to its length. You will immediately discover the character of the river: eddies and various fast passages. Avoid the rocks, paddle in the fast currents! Here, nature is Queen, it welcomes you with all its splendor, with its landscapes and its incredible views. Discover the Hirondelle cave, dive from the square pebble if you feel like it and look for crayfish on one of the beaches along the Tarn. The adventure pleasure is for you.
When you arrive at the campsite after this superb day, we invite you to let yourself go to the dreaming in our campsite, to a moment of idleness in one of the hammocks installed at the edge of the river on our private beach. You will be able to enjoy a glass of lemonade that we have the pleasure to offer you. If you feel like it, you can extend this moment by enjoying our homemade food and pizza.
There are a thousand other ways to discover the Gorges du Tarn, one afternoon, one day, three days… by bike, on foot, by motorcycle, by car, by hiking, by trail… .
