Between Nîmes and Montpellier, there’s a secret south, the Pays de Lunel, and its new attractions are well worth a visit! The Musée Médard and its 5,000 unique antique books; the Musée de la Tour des Prisons, inside the medieval walls; the Arboretum, a conservatory of Mediterranean trees that can be visited on reservation; Ambrussum, a Gallo-Roman archaeological site and its site museum; the Musée Paul Pastre, a museum of folk art and traditions. Not to mention the historic heart of Lunel and the surrounding medieval villages? When it comes to sports and walking, our region offers 160 km of signposted mountain bike trails and 8 hiking trails in the pines, garrigue and Petite Camargue.
