In a vineyard that seems to have been laid out like a garden of antiquity, with its stone walls, its tortured vines… find the expression of the past time and the history of a terroir. A terroir which is part of the Saint-Chinian appellation to which Marc Verstraete, winegrower is very attached. In Assignan, discover this unique estate, a true place on which the Village Castigno also sits. The vineyard of Castigno, labeled vineyards and discoveries breathes in a very singular micro-climate, between woods and rocks, between truffle oaks and dense scrubland. Within this wild and preserved nature, the vine draws its aromatic concentrate, its specificity, its richness. Sometimes it defends itself against the violence of the winds and the ravaging rains, against the cold or the blazing heat, sometimes it benefits from the Mediterranean serenity, and this fight gives it all its character.
