Château de Cénac – Château du Port
ALBAS , Lot
About
For several decades, the Pelvillain Vineyard has figured amongst the finest estates of the Cahors Appellation and its wines are on sale in many countries . Château de Cénac on the Causse and Château du Port on the valley terraces provide different expressions of the Malbec grape variety. The use over several years of sustainable cultivation practices, plus allowing grass to grow between the vines, enables yield to be controlled and quality levels to be maintained.
Visites : The cellars and reception area are opposite the village of Albas on the other side of the river. The Château de Cénac vineyards are on the plateau to the south of Albas. The Château du Port vineyards are close to the cellars. Not far from the tasting cellar, there is a fine view of Albas perched on the cliffs overlooking the Lot. The soils differ very widely from one château to the other, producing wines with noticeably individual characteristics.
Accès : From the centre of the village, go down the lane leading to the river, cross the bridge and follow the directions. On the RD9 halfway between Castelfranc and Luzech, follow the signs “vin de Cahors – Pelvillain Frères”.
