At the south-eastern tip of the Aspres, Martine and Pierre Escudié welcome you to their casot, nestling in the heart of a wine estate surrounded by pine, oak and hackberry trees. They combine their two passions, wine and cuisine: he, the heir to 8 generations of Catalan winegrowers, and she, the guarantor of a family-style cuisine in keeping with Catalan tradition. The vines are grown in the traditional way, with the greatest respect for the land. The Escudié family, aware of climate change and the need to adapt to it, has just inaugurated the first agrivoltaic power station to combine vines and solar electricity on the same plot of land. A world first. Anyone who knows the estate, and especially its food, will tell you that the cuisine here smells of the garrigue. If the romance drags on, stay the night in one of the estate’s pretty guest rooms, overlooking the swimming pool, sauna and whirlpool.
