All De Tavel & Lirac products are available for sale in our tasting stores in Tavel (Route de la Commanderie) and St Laurent des Arbres (Avenue Baron Leroy).

Tavel – Type of wine :
Tavel is known exclusively for its rosé wines. In fact, it’s one of the few appellations in France to specialize solely in rosé.
Characteristics :

Color: A Tavel rosé is often deeper and richer in color than most other rosés, with hues ranging from raspberry pink to intense salmon.

Aromas: Aromas are generally powerful, including notes of fresh red fruits such as raspberry and cherry, and sometimes hints of citrus and flowers.

Taste: On the palate, a Tavel has a robust structure with good roundness and often good acidity. It can also offer a certain minerality with a persistent finish.

Gastronomy:
Tavel goes well with spicy dishes, Mediterranean cuisine, summer grills and mixed salads.

Lirac – Types of wine :
Lirac produces red, rosé and white wines, each with its own characteristics.

Red wines :
Color: Generally deep, with a rich ruby-red hue.

Aromas: Dominated by ripe black fruits such as blackberry and plum, often complemented by spicy, woody notes due to barrel ageing.

Taste: Red wines are well structured, with present but round tannins and a long finish.

Rosé wines:
Lighter than Tavel, Lirac rosés offer pleasant freshness, with notes of red fruit and refreshing acidity.

White wines :
Color: Generally clear with green highlights.
Aromas: White fruits such as pear and peach, with floral notes and sometimes a light herbal fragrance.
Taste: On the palate, whites are lively and fresh, often with good minerality and an elegant finish.
