The oral tradition gives it a seigniorial origin with creation of a peschio or fish pond and reports that a conflict, in the XIIIth century, rose between the lords proprietors and the vine growers of Vivarais which, according to a well-anchored belief to the At that time, the Lozère ponds were accused of attracting thunderstorms and hail on their crops. In 1882, these lands were bought by Dr. Barrandon.
