About

A small sanctuary built at the end of the XVII century. sanctuaire, construit à la fin du XVIIe siècle. Almost in ruin, it was restored in 1961 with the help of the people and artisans of Ortiac, supported by several donors from the Blaye region in the Gironde. A modest edifice of 5 x 11 metres which has a remarkable linden structure. In the chapel on the right one can see the primitive altarpiece, the wood carved and gilded, with the statue of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The furniture consists of the elements recovered from the priory of Saint-Orens. A beautiful silhouette in a mountain setting with its bell tower and “péñaus” cogwheels. Visit on request.
