This 12th-century chapel is dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, the apostle of Bouldoire. It was under the jurisdiction of St. Martin du Coulagnet (attached to St. Victor of Marseille) and also of the Lords of Montrodat. The coat of arms of the Montrodat family and those of the Abbots of St. Victor of Marseille are displayed on its pediment. Partially destroyed by the Huguenots, the chapel was later restored in the same spirit and retains undeniable beauty. The single nave opens onto a semi-circular apse lit by two Romanesque windows. In the 17th century, a small hermitage was attached to it. The enclosure was probably a small cemetery. St. John’s Day was a feast day in the village, and on this occasion, a mass was celebrated in the chapel. Today, a mass is still celebrated there every year in August.
