This 12th-century chapel is dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, the apostle of Bouldoire. It depended on St Martin du Coulagnet (attached to St Victor de Marseille), but also on the Lords of Montrodat. Partially destroyed by the Huguenots, the chapel was later restored in the same spirit and retains its undeniable quality. The single nave opens onto a cul-de-four choir lit by two Romanesque bays.
In the 17th century, a small hermitage adjoined the church. The enclosure was probably a small cemetery.
St. John’s Day was a feast day in the village, when mass was celebrated in the chapel.
