CAMBIAC CASTEL

CAMBIAC , Haute-Garonne – Cultural heritage

About

The castle of Cambiac was built at the beginning of the 16th century on the ruins of a 15th century building that had housed a small religious community and was destroyed during the religious wars. In the 19th century, work was undertaken with the addition of a quadrangular tower.

The castle was built as a residence for Sieur Milhau, appointed constable of the region of Montauban by Queen Marguerite of Navarre. All the part of the building dating from the 16th century is intact. Finally, in the 19th century, important enlargement and embellishment works were undertaken, notably with the addition of an important quadrangular tower. In the park of the castle, an 18th century orangery and a small 19th century well complete this architectural ensemble. Visits are only open to groups from + European Heritage Days. On request for groups. [CORONAVIRUS] The establishment is open, respecting the maximum sanitary measures and barrier gestures. Consult their website and/or facebook page for more information.
