Château de Lantis

Mentioned in the archives of Lot since the 15th century, the Lantis Castle initially appears as a fortified house. Reshaped in the 18th century, it was subsequently abandoned during the Revolution. However, after years of restoration, it regained all its splendor, revealing exceptional architectural elements such as its perfectly preserved Renaissance door and its unique star-shaped paving. Thematic exhibitions and animations are regularly organized. A new addition in 2017 is the Renaissance garden, featuring four diamond-shaped boxwood flowerbeds that enhance the castle’s facade.Lantis castle dates from the late 16th C. It was built on the site of an older fortified settlement destroyed during the Wars of Religion. It was bought as a ruin in 1993 and is undergoing restoration.
