Perched on its rocky spur, the 11th-century Château de Lordat offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the valley. A former medieval fortress and refuge for the Cathars, today it offers a journey back in time to the heart of history.

Rising to 965 m above sea level and offering a unique panoramic view over the valley, this fortress stands as a jewel in the crown of the historic heritage of the Ariege Pyrenees.

Come and discover this unique site, which offers a wide range of events and guided tours: medieval shows, star-gazing treasure hunts, storytelling and lectures on Catharism… as well as bird-of-prey shows.
NEW: Game area at the Château on reservation

10-minute approach walk. Leashed pets welcome.

For curious visitors outside opening hours, the château is open free of charge from October to early July 2023.
