“The seigneury of Le Champ is recorded in deeds dating back to 1498. At the end of the 15th century, work began on the corner tower known as the “donjon”.

The stair tower and adjacent buildings appear to date from the 16th century. The small-diameter turrets are certainly later, marking an extension that could date back to the 17th century.

In the 19th century, the entrance was transferred from one facade to the other, and the present vestibule was built and covered. The exterior chapel is equally recent. Six towers and turrets stand out from the castle’s mass. Four of these mark the corners of the building. Another divides the larger façade in two. The sixth, on the inside, houses the staircase. The oldest of these towers, the “donjon”, supports the wing to the right of the entrance terrace. The dungeon is the only one with defensive features”.
