About
The commandery of Palhers was founded by the Knights Templar in the Middle Ages. A few peasants and artisans settled around it, and thus the village of Palhers was created. From the 14th century until the French Revolution, the commandery was served by the Hospitallers (or Knights of Malta). Located in the church square, it is a private building. Adjoining the commandery, the dovecote stands at the edge of the village square in Palhers. It is in good condition and still shelters a few passing pigeons.
