The Ukrainian Catholic Church, a stunning example of the Neo-Byzantine style that was consecrated in 1982, is recognisable by its five golden domes. This place of worship is open to the public and is owned by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. It is the only Eastern Catholic church in Lourdes. The brightly coloured paintings covering its walls are a striking modern interpretation of the Byzantine tradition. The monumental figure of the Mother of God in prayer, as well as more than 60 figures of saints and prophets, make a striking impression and yet inspire contemplation and meditation. Architect: Myroslav Nimciv, frescoes: Yuriy (Jerzy) Nowosielski: iconostasis: Petro Kholodny. Closed for visits during services. At other times, visits can be arranged by appointment.
