JARRET , Hautes-Pyrénées – Cultural heritage

About

Picturesque Hamlet of Jarret, with its duck pond. The church with its bell-tower-wall dedicated to Saint John the Baptist is located at the end of the village, next to a private house. It houses a simple altarpiece, composed of three polychrome wooden statues, surmounted by a glory represented by the dove of the Holy Spirit. The statues represent the patron saint framed by Mary and Joseph.
The baptismal font covered with trompe l’oeil paintings, imitating marble slabs, is reminiscent of those in the church of Boô. Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme
