About

The Church of the Assumption is a classic 17th and 18th century church with its bell tower-wall and central nave with barrel vaulting. Classical portal dated 1679.
It houses a beautiful monumental altarpiece in three parts representing the Assumption framed by Saint Michael slaying the devil-dragon, and N.-D. of the Rosary, accompanied by Saint Dominic and Saint Theresa. These three polychrome carved wooden panels are separated by twisted columns with scrolls. They are attributed to the Soustre workshops (1700). Some (including the CPIE) attribute it, with the very rocaille altar, to Jean Claverie de Lourdes, and date it to 1768. Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme
