About

The church of Saint-Etienne de Concoules is distinguished by its bell tower-comb, typical of Cevennes churches.

The façade and the two bays of the nave still give a glimpse of the primitive church, which has been raised in different devices. Above this gable wall stands a bell tower with four arches in the style of all the bell towers of the upper Cézarenque. The south capital has two rows of smooth leaves on the corbel and palmettes on the bevel of the chisel. It allows us to date the church to the first half of the 12th century.

It is similar to the churches of Branoux-les-Taillades, Aujac, Bonnevaux, and Génolhac.
