About

A church with a certain charm! Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme

In the 19th century, when stone merchants were scouring the region, scattering the heritage as far away as the Americas, Bonnefont Abbey (12th century), in an advanced state of ruin, had become their bread and butter. In order to save a few vestiges, Touille bought back part of the western façade of the abbey church from the temple merchants (literally) in 1865. The construction of the present church lasted 21 years. 88 journeys were necessary to transport the stones from Bonnefont to Touille, with the addition of a ferry crossing of the Salat!
