The origins of the church dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste in the village of Paulhac-en-Margeride go back to the 12th century
Its exterior layout was modified at the end of the 19th century by the addition of the bell tower. The church is Romanesque and has a western entrance through the bell tower-porch.

Inside, the church offers a demonstration of the Romanesque style with its round-vaulted bays. The building has seven remarkable stained glass windows dated 1937. They are the work of master glassworkers Louis Saint-Blancat and Henri Moulenc of Toulouse. One of the windows refers to Notre-Dame de Beaulieu whose cult is alive in the town. In the hamlet of La Vachellerie, there is a farmhouse in which a niche dated 1872 is preserved where one can read “Souvenir de Notre-Dame-de-Beaulieu”, surely a vestige of the former chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Beaulieu. In order to sustain the cult, the church houses a statue of the Virgin and Child named Notre-Dame-de-Beaulieu. Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme
