The statue of St. Lawrence is placed in the Romanesque choir of the church. According to the legend, St. Lawrence died in 258, deacon of Rome, of Spanish origin, according to tradition he was burned alive on a grill for refusing to deliver the goods of the Church to the prefect of Rome, he preferred to distribute them to the poor. St. Lawrence is celebrated on August 10.
The entrance portal, originally on the south side of the church, was moved and restored in the early 19th century, using the Romanesque architecture of the time. The decorative motifs of interlacing, voussoirs and capitals are very aesthetic. On the handle of the entrance door, we find the shell of St Jacques de Compostelle.
On the east side you can see the Romanesque chevet, the oldest part of the church
The comb bell tower is made of 4 arches equipped with 4 bells. It is a particularity because only the basilicas and the cathedrals could hold more than 3 bells.

The altar dedicated to the Virgin is a copy of the period (the old one is on the left side)
The solid wood pulpit with relief carvings is supported by four evangelists (Matthew with the angel, Mark and the lion, Luke with the ox and John with the eagle). The church is open every day from 9am to 6pm. Possibility of reserving a visit of the sacred arts at 05 65 44 93 53. Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme
