EGLISE SAINT-LEONCE

CORNEILHAN , Hérault – Cultural heritage

About

Saint Léonce, patron saint of the parish, protects the building which was almost completely rebuilt in 1870. On the gospel side, it houses the Romanesque chapel dedicated to Saint Céronne, a young virgin born in Corneilhan around the year 410 The church contains a very striking element: the mural frescoes painted in the 1960s by the Estonian-born artist Nicolaï Greschny. Saint Léonce overlooks the village and, from its terrace, there is a magnificent panorama of the Orb plain.
