Allenc was located on a Roman road that crossed the Lot and passed through Lanuéjols
In the 12th century, the church belonged to the chapter of the cathedral of Mende. The lords of Allenc had elected their burial there
The building is a remarkable work of Romanesque period, classified as Historic Monuments. The chevet dates from the 11th century and the construction of the nave extends from the 12th to the 15th century, with the addition of a facade topped by a “comb” bell tower of a rather rare layout: four bays, two of which house the bells, are surmounted by two smaller ones. A circular tower with a conical roof is flanked against the bell tower, which reinforces the originality of the whole
Built mainly of granite, the church has a choir on a trefoil plan from the inside with an apse and apsidioles, while their chevet (outside) is polygonal. Traduction automatique par DeepL via DATAtourisme
