GARDENS OF CHATEAU DE FLAUGERGUES
MONTPELLIER , Hérault – Cultural heritage
About
A remarkably beautiful garden. Château de Flaugergues, a marvelous 18th-century folly, was a “house in the fields” when it was acquired in 1696, and is now an island of greenery in the city of Montpellier. This former Tuscan-style pleasure residence has been able to preserve its winegrowing activity in the heart of the city, as well as its sumptuous gardens, which have been awarded the “Remarkable” label, and a whole harmonious universe that has just been rewarded with a 2nd star in the Michelin Green Guide in 2016. Classified as Historic Monuments in 1986, the gardens and grounds of Flaugergues were awarded the “Jardin Remarquable” label in 2004. Surrounding the château and overlooking the vineyards to the east, 4 areas, each with its own strong personality, are open to visitors
