About
One of the oldest houses in Aveyron, to discover in the medieval town of Sévérac. Medieval-themed activities in July and August.
Discover the House of Jeanne, one of the oldest houses in Aveyron, nestled in the narrow streets of the medieval town of Sévérac-le-Château.
Dating from the 14th century, it stands at No. 10 Rue de Belvezet, at the corner of Passage de l’Hospice. It catches the eye with its typical architecture: half-timbered walls, wattle and daub sections, two levels of overhanging upper floors, narrow openings including an oval window to the south and a mullioned window to the north, and a raised entrance protected by the upper floor.
In July and August, the House of Jeanne hosts medieval-themed activities every Wednesday. On these occasions, it opens its doors for an immersive experience into daily life in the Middle Ages.
A must-see stop for all heritage and history enthusiasts.
