About
About 25 km north/north-east of Montpellier, beyond the Pic Saint-Loup, stands the Hortus mountain between the villages of Valflaunès in the east and Saint-Martin-de-Londres in the west, among a landscape of fields, woods and “garrigue” scrubland. The mountain range comes to an abrupt end in the east and south at the 512-metre-high limestone cliffs. The château is in an elongated spot on the southern ridge, overlooking the valley 200 metres below that separates it from the Pic Saint-Loup in the south, and overlooking the Hortus plateau in the north.
