A showcase for the diversity of art in the Lot, the Maison des arts Georges et Claude Pompidou manages the contemporary art centre in Cajarc and the Maisons Daura, international artists’ residences in Saint-Cirq Lapopie. The Contemporary Art Route settles every summer in the Lot valley and links the Maisons Daura to the Art Centre. Throughout the year, the MAGCP presents exhibitions, residences, artistic workshops for young people and families, meetings with artists…The Maison des Arts Georges Pompidou manages a contemporary art centre in Cajarc and the Maisons Daura, Midi-Pyrénées Region international artists’ residences in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. The Contemporary Art Centre puts on 3 to 5 temporary exhibitions over the period of a year, plus the Contemporary Art Trail in the Lot Valley during the summer, extending from the Art Centre to the Maisons Daura and going via different villages in that section of the valley. The Maisons Daura has artists-in-residence at two different periods: a collective residence in spring, when the artists prepare the summer contemporary art trail; and in the autumn, when individual candidates can apply for residence .
