About
The Scamandre nature reserve comprises the La Fromagère and Buisson Gros estates, owned by Vauvert and the Conseil Départemental du Gard respectively.
Acquired in the 90s for protection and enhancement purposes, the 146 ha (146 ha) formerly partly cultivated now represent one of the department’s jewels in terms of natural heritage.
By becoming the 14th Grand Site de France, the Camargue Gardoise joins the prestigious circle of France’s most visited and best-valued landscapes.
