The main function of the Lake of Villeneuve de la Raho, owned by the General Council, is agricultural irrigation, but it has also become a fun place in the summer. A pine forest has been established and in addition to swimming, jogging and fitness trail are well practiced and appreciated. To the south west of the main lake, extends an ecological reserve of 14 ha, where fishing and tourist activities are prohibited because here the animal life is protected: the lake is on the passage of certain migratory birds and the avifaune is very rich there.
