Lacave

40 minutes from Souillac. 2 possible stops:

  • Stop: Bourg Grottes de Lacave. Ride the tourist train through 12 rooms adorned by magical concretions. These caves are among the most beautiful in Occitanie. 
  • Stop: Prehisto Dino Parc. The theme park draws on the prehistoric relics unearthed in the Lot to bring the bygone world of dinosaurs to life. 
Rocamadour

Rocamadour

46 minutes from Souillac. 3 possible stops:

  • Stop at Ferme Borie d'Imbert: free admission to Borie d'Imbert goat farm. The farm makes the delicious Rocamadour AOP cabécou cheese
  • Stop: Ascenseur Château, Rocamadour town centre. A great way to explore the Grand Site Occitanie from top to bottom. It's also listed as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. 
  • Stop: Gare SNCF. Rocamadour station is 6km from town and connects you with the Causses du Quercy Occitanie Rail Tour if you want to visit Rodez in Aveyron. 

Padirac

1.5 hours from Souillac. Stop: Gouffre.

Get goosebumps in the height of summer as you slowly descend 100m down into France's most famous cave.

Bretenoux

2 hours from Souillac.

The bastide town of Bretenoux has a rich history dating back to the 13th century on the edge of Quercy, close to neighbouring Auvergne.

Connection for Saint-Céré with 887 bus service

Take the 887 bus in Bretenoux (stop: Place Germaine Moreau). It's a 10 minute ride to Saint-Céré.

Saint-Céré is listed as a village with personality and famous for its opera festival (late July-early August). There's so much to visit: Hôtel de Puymule, the Romanesque Sainte Spérie Church, Place du Mercadial, Maison des Consuls, Pont d'Hercule and so many more!
