Depending on your start point (Tarbes or Lourdes), the 960 and 962 liO buses both take you to Bagnères-de-Bigorre. This pretty spa town makes way for the Campan Valley's rural landscapes. Depending on the season, you can then head up to La Mongie resort and the Pic du Midi, Grand Site Occitanie.

  • Period: all year round for Bagnères-de-Bigorre; seasonal for stops up to La Mongie/Pic du Midi.
    • In winter, the 960 service is combined with the Bagnères-de-Bigorre - La Mongie SKIBUS. The skibus runs until the resort closes on April 1st. After that, the 960 bus stops at Bagnères de Bigorre.
    • In the summer, the 962 takes over the journey to La Mongie when the Pic du Midi reopens: from June 1st to mid-November.
    • No bus services to La Mongie from April 1st to June 1st or mid-November to mid-December (when the resort is open).
  • Days: Monday to Friday. In winter: Saturdays and Sundays too.
  • Start point for the 960 liO bus from Tarbes: Gare SNCF.
  • Start point for the 962 liO bus from Lourdes: Gare routière.

Bagnères-de-Bigorre

25 minutes from Tarbes or 27 minutes from Lourdes. Stop: Eglise. This spa town has held onto its opulent 19th century villas with palm trees and colourful Bigorre houses.

Stroll by shops and cafés as you pass the famous Allées des Coustous, Grands Thermes, Casino, Aquensis spa (a must-do), Tour des Jacobins and so much more. Soak up the hustle and bustle at one of the best food markets in the Pyrenees on Saturday morning. Find out more.

Beaudéan

8 minutes from Tarbes or 53 minutes from Lourdes. Stop: Bascule Abribus. A little Bigorre village where you can visit Dominique Larrey's childhood home, the surgeon-in-chief of Napoleon's armies.

Campan

42 minutes from Tarbes or 57 minutes from Lourdes. Stop: Bourg. Campan is famous for its traditional mounaques (life-size dolls) and its namesake valley is so beautiful that it was once dubbed the "Arcadia of the Pyrenees".

La Mongie / Pic du Midi

1 hr 16 from Tarbes or 1 hr 27 from Lourdes. Le Grand Tourmalet - Barèges - La Mongie resort is the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. Take the ski lift from here up to the top of the Pic du Midi, at an altitude of 2877m.
