Montauban

On the Occitanie Rail Tour

Discover Montauban

Clad in orange brick, Montauban is a town of art and history. The old town centre boasts a mixture of traditional shops, boutiques and mansions built by wealthy merchants. In the heart of the orchard valley of the Tarn and founded in 1144, Montauban is one of the oldest bastide towns in Occitanie. The town is also proud of being the hometown of painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and sculptor Antoine Bourdelles.

Around the Place Nationale, a must-see in itself, pedestrian streets will guide you on a trendy art and history tour.
